How it works

Cans close to home, emptied on schedule.

We place shared, lidded cans a few steps from residents' doors and empty them on the days we agree with you. Residents use them whenever they like. Here's how it comes together.

We survey the property

We walk every building with you and find where cans can sit close to the homes they serve — a landing, a breezeway, beside an entrance — without getting in anyone's way. That walk sets how many cans go where, how often we collect, and the route. It's free, and it comes before anything is signed.

Cans go in, at our cost

Lidded cans for bagged household trash, plus a distinctly coloured recycling can where your community recycles. They carry our branding, signage and contact details. If a spot regularly runs close to full, that's ours to fix — we never ask residents to use less.

Residents use them whenever they like

No set-out time, no company can inside the home, no rule about which bag. A tied bag in the trash can is the whole ask. Where there's a recycling can, recycling goes in loose, and the sign on the can shows what it takes.

We collect on the days we agree

Collection days are set with you to match your property's size and how fast the cans fill, then kept to a fixed schedule residents can rely on. Each stop is photographed and GPS-logged as it's serviced. Recycling is checked as it comes out, so a stray wrong item goes with the trash instead of spoiling the load.

Everything goes where your property already sends it

Trash goes to your compactor or dumpsters, and we tidy around them while we're there. Recycling goes to the property's recycling container. Our job ends at those containers; looking after them and their hauling stays with the property and your waste hauler, so it's always clear who handles what.

Your office gets the record

Completion data and photographs are delivered automatically on an agreed cadence. You don't have to ask whether a building was serviced — the evidence arrives either way.

A collection route traced on a map, each stop marked with its building and the time it was serviced
From a real test route: every stop is located and time-stamped automatically, so a whole collection day can be checked afterwards.

Winter: route staff carry ice melt and treat any ice found around the cans on the visit it's discovered, rather than reporting it and moving on.

Side by side

Two ways to do valet trash

Door-to-door pickup works well at many communities. Shared cans are a different approach, and some properties and residents prefer it. Here's how they compare.

Door-to-door pickup Capital Valet shared cans
When residents take trash out During a set evening window Any time, any day
Where the trash waits Outside the home's door until pickup In a lidded can close to the building
Container in the home Usually a provided can Whatever the resident already owns
Recycling Varies by provider Its own can, where the community recycles
Resident fines Depends on the provider and the lease None from us, in any circumstance
Proof of service Varies by provider Every stop photographed and reported to you automatically
